The basic daily benefit is the same as the average wage defined by the Labour Standards Law. It is calculated for Rosai payments, in principle, by dividing your total wages for 3 months prior to the claimable event that caused the damage by the number of calendar days. Bonus-type payments and extra-ordinary payments are excluded from this calculation.
If the payment period is prolonged, the basic daily benefit (average wage) is adjusted in line with the monthly average wage from “Monthly Working Statistics” maitsuki kinro tokei published by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) kosei rodo sho.
The benefit you receive can also be adjusted because there are minimum and maximum daily basic benefits for each age group that are determined each year from the “Basic Statistical Survey of Wages Structure” chingin kozo tokei chosa.
